About Zopart
One man show
Zopart was built and is run by one person, me, William Griffin. It started as a spreadsheet to list all the galleries that I could find in Brussels.
I found it time consuming to visit all of the gallery websites to find out what was on so, as a website builder, I created a system to scan the gallery sites to spot when a new show is listed. I found this a useful way to discover the commercial contemporary art galleries in Brussels, and to see what was showing, where and when. It was important to me that the shows had an image so I got an instant flavour of the show without having to click through to the gallery site. I also wanted the home page to have a magazine-like quality to encourage visitors to return.
With my spreadsheet I was able to find shows that interested me in Brussels and I could plan my trips into the city around visiting a few galleries at a time.
I figured that if this was useful for me it may help others too. As most of the work was done I "just" needed to polish it up and host it online. And thus, Zopart was born.
155 galleries across two cities
Since launching the site in November 2025 with Brussels I have added Paris. The directory now includes 155 galleries across both cities. More recently I added the Monday Digest for subscribers. It tells them what is opening, closing and currently showing. Pictures ensure that they get a flavour of what the show entails.

Strange name!
Zopart is called Zopart because I wanted a 6 letter .com domain that had the word art in it. I searched high and low and found all that was available. Zopart appealed to me the most, afterwards I realised that the ZOP in Zopart could stand for Zone of Perception. The concept behind this is that a gallery is a place where people can perceive the art on display and interpret as they do.
Thanks for reading.
