Transparences liquides
Anne-Camille Allueva , Matan Mittwoch , Laure Tiberghien , Emmanuel Van Der Auwera
The exhibition "Transparences liquides" (Liquid Transparencies) brings together four contemporary artists to examine the conditions of our visual perception in the face of current image flows. Navigating space, duration, and attention, the show shifts the modalities of seeing to explore how images shape our gaze and thought processes. Curated by Francesco Biasi and Nathalie Giraudeau, the exhibition was presented at the CPIF (Centre Photographique d’Ile-de-France).
The artists explore themes of visual perception and information in the digital age. Anne-Camille Allueva uses polarizing filters to reveal their role in constructing the visible, creating sculptures that shift with viewer movement. Matan Mittwoch's work, including the piece "TELE," examines the paradox of light emission and tunnel vision, contrasting with Nancy Holt's "Sun Tunnels." Laure Tiberghien creates abstract prints using light and chemistry, inviting slow contemplation. Emmanuel Van der Auwera deconstructs imagery from events like the Capitol assault, using offset plates and screens with removed filters to highlight the constructed nature of images and the influence of algorithms.
