Legenda
Frederik Molenschot's exhibition "Legenda" at Carpenters Workshop Gallery Paris presents three new works from his "CityLight" series: CL Sable, CL Mer, and CL Paradis. These sculptures are inspired by the dune landscapes and beaches of the Dutch coastline. Each piece features a unique finish that translates a specific aspect of the landscape into color and form, with color derived from the landscape itself.
The "CityLight" series originated from Molenschot's observations of Shanghai's streetlights. For "Legenda," he reimagines this concept by physically grasping and compressing these luminous networks into sculptural forms. Crafted from hand-shaped bronze, the intricate structures channel light, transforming fleeting illumination systems into monumental objects. These large-scale works function as abstract topographies where light, material, and landscape converge, inviting viewers into created environments.
