ŒuVreS réCEnteS
ŒuVreS réCEnteS is Jutta Koether's first solo exhibition at Galerie Chantal Crousel. The exhibition is conceived around the artist's fascination with La Chasse spirituelle (Spiritual Hunt), a legendary and apocryphal text long attributed to Arthur Rimbaud. It also marks a return to Paris, a city Koether considers not just a place but an artistic medium.
Through a new body of work, Koether explores painting as a space for improvisation, reflection, and transmission, where images, texts, and art historical references intersect. These paintings, intended to be discovered within the gallery space, unfold as the viewer engages with them, inviting a form of "spiritual hunt," in Koether's words.
